Introducing myself to Hive community - Who am I?

Hello, to be honest this won't be my first post. While browsing the articles on the OCD community's page, I had the opportunity to read the article titled "3 things Newbies should do in their first week on Hive". When I reviewed the article, I realized I did everything but introduce myself, and here I am.

Briefly who am I

First of all, my real name is not Cronos, I prefer to use the name of a god from Greek mythology to remain anonymous. I am only 20 years old and I live in Istanbul/Turkey. Even though it is a magnificent city in terms of history, I cannot say that I am very happy to live in it. I have to live here in the next 3 years for my dentistry education.

Why do I want to remain anonymous?

I would say there are multiple reasons for this. The first reason is that I am afraid that my future political articles will cause trouble for me one day. I don't know how the situation is in your country, but in Turkey you can get in trouble if you express your opinions openly and that's the last thing I want.

The second reason I want to remain anonymous is, at the end of the day, we are part of an ecosystem that follows the footsteps of bitcoin that was born for the purpose of Anonymity. When Satoshi was designing bitcoin, he wanted people to have the ability to hide their identities, and I want to continue his wish.

How did I first meet cryptocurrencies?

Unlike many people around the world, I am an early adopter of crypto. When I was 12-13 years old, I had the opportunity to participate in the Stellar(XLM) airdrop thanks to a post shared in a group on Facebook. I had earned 25XLM by logging in with my Facebook account, even finding 25XLM less and collecting a few XLMs by logging in with the accounts of other members of my family.

I remember that price of bitcoin hit 500$ on coinbase. There weren't that many cryptocurrencies and exchanges in the market back then. I was introduced to bitcoin and naturally cryptocurrencies by converting my XLMs to Bitcoin on an exchange whose name I do not remember and throwing my first bitcoins into my wallet that I opened on blockchain.info (later blockchain.com).

Unfortunately, not every early adopter with crypto is a millionaire, so at least I couldn't be :) I've been learning new things all the time since the day I met crypto. Even though I could not be a millionaire, I had the opportunity to work in various projects from time to time thanks to what I know. I'm not sure if the happiness of meeting new people and gaining new experiences could give a few million dollars..

My introduction to Steem and hive

I met Steemit like 2016-2017. I created an account for myself and lost access to the account after I shared 1 blog post. Because I didn't fully understand how Steemit was working at that time and I hadn't backed up the keys required for login. At that time, I couldn't manage to open a new account for myself, because only one phone number could be registered with Steemit, and I had to forget about steemit forever.

But one day while reading the daily crypto news I heard that steem is going to fork. Due to Justin Sun's authoritarian move, the steem community was creating a new steem alternative: Hive. With the announcement of Hive, I immediately opened an account, this time I backed up my keys, but I couldn't share because I couldn't find time to write. Until now.

What types of articles do I write?

I am very interested in subjects such as history and politics and I like to tell people what I know. I will write articles in the field of History because I believe that history should be no longer a boring science and should be explained to people in an entertaining way.

Of course, I will also have articles on technology and crypto money. From time to time, I will also share articles from my own life. I don't want my blog to be just about history either.

What is it like to study dentistry?

It is difficult for me to give a clear answer to this question. Dentistry education is very difficult and tiring. In addition to a load of theoretical courses, there is also a load of practical and laboratory courses. Some days I don't even have time to scratch my head.

I would like to post a photo of the things I did in my practical trainings here, but I decided not to share it because I was not sure about the attitude of the community towards these images.

Why do I dislike living in Istanbul?

First of all,if you are planning to come to Istanbul as a tourist, Istanbul is a magnificent city. Istanbul is a unique city with its history and being a meeting point of cultures. However, if you want to live here for a long time, you have to prepare yourself for certain things.

For example, the traffic in the city is very heavy. If you are planning to set off with your personal vehicle, I suggest you think twice. Also, the city is very big, so you have to spend hours in public transport or traffic while going from one place to another.

Due to the high rents in places such as Kadıköy Beşiktaş Nişantaşı Taksim, where daily life is very high, you have to risk living in districts far from these places and spending 3-4 hours a day in traffic/public transportation. As someone who has spent 20 years in this city, it may not be pleasant to spend time on the road 3-4 hours a day almost every day for 20 years.

My final words

There is so much more to write here, but I want to save some of the details about me for later. Thank you if you've read this far, I hope you like my articles. If you have suggestions that you want to give me, if you specify them in the comments section, I will not hesitate to read them :)
